I started making this in 2024 as a way to process my frustration with American corporate work culture. I never finished it, and it sat on my hard drive until last week, when I decided to pick it up again and get it into a playable state. It's still pretty half-baked, but hey, if you're reading this, I'm glad something resonated with you!
The game's mechanics are hyperbolic, but these kinds of corporate processes are so common and, as I hope the game illustrates, so pointlessly counter-productive.
I know that, unlike our protagonist, most people can't just up and quit their jobs. Or if you can, you'd just be jumping from one bad job to the next.
Instead, I encourage you to work with your colleagues to demand accountability and a better working culture from your bosses.
If I'd been up to spending more time on the game, my ideal ending would've shown a lot of little bird people tearing down the deadline clock and plastering in the OKR row. Alas, maybe in a future game :)
If you like this kind of Sokoban puzzler, I recommend checking out Void Stranger, a fiendishly hard but incredibly captivating Sokoban adventure game.
Thank you to Devine Lu Linvega who posted a gif of a little Sokoban "plan your moves ahead of time" mechanic demo, which I shamelessly stole for this game. (I'll update this message with a link to it if I can find it!)
Take care everybody <3
