Several video game streamers I watch (Baalorlord, WolfeyVCG, the SMO Hide-and-Seek people) have all started using the exclamation “Holy!”, and it’s sticking in my ear like a burr.
I’m guessing it’s an example of advertising-driven language evolution: “holy shit” or “holy fuck” could get your channel demonetized, so streamers just go with “holy”.
Anyone noticing any other phrases like this?
